Who we are
Trusted Reference Check is a verification service. We conduct professional reference interviews on behalf of individuals and organizations that need a documented record of what a reference has to say.
We are not a recruiter, an employer or a staffing agency, and we take no position on any hiring decision. Our role is limited and specific: ask standard reference questions, record the answers accurately and deliver them in a report.

What to expect if we contact you
Being asked to serve as a reference is routine, and so is our request. Here is exactly how it works.

Why you were contacted
A person you know professionally listed you as a reference and authorized us, in writing, to request your feedback. We contact only the references that person named.

What we will ask
A short, structured interview covering your working relationship and your professional assessment, the same questions asked in an ordinary employment reference check. It takes a few minutes, in writing, at a time that suits you.

How your answers are handled
Your responses are documented verbatim and provided to the authorizing party(ies). They are not published, sold or shared with anyone else.

You may decline any individual question or opt out at any time!
The questions we ask
Interviews follow a standard employment-reference structure. Topics include:
- Confirmation of role, organization and dates of your working relationship
- The capacity in which you worked together
- Professional strengths you observed
- Areas where you saw room for professional growth
- Whether you would work with the person again

- Is this request legitimate?
- If the message identifies Trusted Reference Check and names the person who listed you, it originated with us and is backed by that person's written authorization. If you would like to confirm a specific request, contact us using the details below and we will verify it.
- Am I required to respond?
- No. Serving as a reference is entirely voluntary. Declining carries no consequence from us, and we will note only that the interview was not completed.
- Who sees my answers?
- The party that authorized the check. Your responses are documented verbatim for that party and are not shared further, published or added to any public record.
- How do I respond?
- You must respond using the link you received via email, text or call.
- How do I opt out of future contact?
- Reply to the message you received, or write to us at the address below, and we will close the request and cease contact.
